[MA Picture]

I hope that my artistic point of view engages you, expands your vision, puts a smile on your face and brightens your day.

You can see that my paintings are personal, creative statements, expressionistic, interpretive, sometimes quirky, a little off-center. I often paint an intimate, close-up view, using bold, brilliant, lively color. Although I have experience in many mediums, I prefer now to work with acrylic or watercolor on canvas or paper. To help you understand why I paint the way I do, my visual mentors have been Bonnard's beautiful colors, the masterful marks of Matisse and Milton Avery's primary shapes and colors.

My strongest creative skills and greatest joys in art revolve around color, shape and composition. When working in my studio, in plein aire or intuitively, my paintings are non-traditional because I enjoy using color and mark as a means of expression rather than description. My art is an aesthetic tool rather than a recording device.

I want to share with you some of the beautiful things I've seen in my life, so this year, my website includes note cards, featuring some reproductions of my artwork and my personal photographs. Please click on Note Cards to view them.

I am a member of the Pittsburgh Watercolor Society, the Fiberarts Guild of Pittsburgh, the Pittsburgh Center for the Arts, and past member of the South Hills Art League.

Thank you for taking the time to look at my art. Please share your thoughts and comments with me by completing the Response Form on this site. Peace. Shalom.
